2016 12th annual Sutton Award for Student Conservation ArtCONGRATULATIONS to OUR Edmond Memorial Art Students on their exhibition in the 12th annual Sutton Award for Student Conservation Art. This is a Scholarship based juried competition and the students did incredible work.
Out of 20 prizes, EMHS students won 4 of them--2 of the prizes in the top 5 awarded! Congrats to Kyra Gallagher for tying for 3rd and awarded $750.00 Jordan Tacker for placing 5th, $500.00 Bailey Robinson & Katie McGaha on Honorable Mentions & were each awarded $250.00 Erin Hensley and Aubrey Bradford also contributed to the competition and were on display for the event. The top three placers were also presented with a special breakfast event with the Natureworks Artists exhibitors who travel from all over the US, along with their parents and art teachers. Kyra received a special recognition at the event and many compliments from the professional artists. |

Congrats to our Edmond Memorial art students who were accepted into one of the toughest HS art competitions at OCU this season. Jordan Tacker, Katie McGaha, Jessica Cornelius, Sarah Weides, and Brittany McClanahan, Parker Rainey, Emily Phillips, and Kyra Gallagher (absent from photos) showed their best works and their best selves and represented our school and program.
Jordan Tacker won the Mike Wimmer Mastery Award with her excellence in all three images she submitted: Watercolor, Oil and Charcoal. She received $500.00 award. |
