SECTION III QUALITY SECTION: Five actual pieces; maximum size is 18″ x 24″, min.mount is 8"x10"
The Quality section permits the student to select the works that best exhibit a synthesis of form, technique, and content.
(This is where you pick your BEST five pieces!)
The Quality section promotes the development of a sense of excellence in art. For this section, students submit five works that best demonstrate excellence. There are no preconceptions about what the works will look like -- they may have been created quickly or over a long period of time; they may be drawn from observation, imagination, or a combination.
The five works chosen for the Quality section may come from the student's Concentration section and/or Breadth section, but they don't have to. They may be a group of related works, unrelated works, or a combination of related and unrelated works. We will prepare them for shipping prior to "exam day"...
On "EXAM" Day, we will have a portfolio given to us from our AP Coordinator. We will then label each piece according to the instructions and include the grading sheets as necessary. PLEASE REMEMBER you must pay for the exam with the finance office in the spring. ($90)
The AP Coordinator will take the portfolios and ship them out for judging. They will be returned this summer along with your scores.
